Do you ever try to numb your feelings or pain with food?

This is called buffering - using external things to change how you feel.

If you have fibromyalgia, you've likely experienced buffering.
Maybe you've tried to "cure" your pain, fatigue, anxiety or loneliness, with online shopping, binging on Netflix, overeating, stress-eating, comfort-eating or over-drinking, all examples of buffering. We use things or activities outside of us to help us numb the pain inside of us.

Buffering is a coping mechanism, not a solution.

Join me to learn how to stop buffering your pain and feelings without relying on willpower. Because the problem with willpower is that willpower will burn out.  Discover what really works!

About Olga Pinkston, MD...

I am on the mission to empower women with fibromyalgia to live their best lives. Combining the power of mind-body-work, neuroscience, pain education, and coaching, I am providing the evidence-based tools you need to rewire your brain, take control of your healing, and improve your quality of life. Thanks to modern neuroscience research and mind-body tools for chronic pain, you can claim your life back. I believe that every fibromyalgia patient deserves access to these tools, and I am passionate about teaching you that. Fibro is real!

I am a board-certified rheumatologist who practices in Louisville, Kentucky, USA.

I graduated from the University of Louisville Medical School, where I also completed the internal medicine residency. I completed the Mayo Clinic Rheumatology Fellowship in Jacksonville, Florida.

I believe that fibromyalgia treatment must include integrative techniques, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), nutrition, stress reduction, and coaching.
